Sure, there are pictures that are beautiful to look at. Sunrises above the ocean can be heart-warming and look great at the wall. But do they speak to you? Do they tell a story other than those of beauty? Photography actually is way more than what you see in the photograph. The picture is only the catalyst in triggering a chain reaction that lets you create a story in your mind. The endless love between a newly engaged couple. The complete joy a father feels holding his newborn son for the first time. That woman who has pushed herself and overcome obstacles to graduate and walk across that stage. The farmer who has fought proudly to raise 3 generations just by tilling dirt and has never ending stories about his family legacy. A chubby faced 1 year old digging into an icing covered birthday cake as mom and dad laugh uncontrollably. These stories are what make them memorable and iconic. Imperfect moments to to most... To me they are the timeless thread that connects our future to the past.
